| THE CSD 10 BUREAU
MEETINGS
The tenth session of the UN Commission for Sustainable Development (CSD 10) is
acting as the Preparatory Committee for the World Summit on Sustainable
Development. These intergovernmental preparations are steered by a group which
comprises the CSD10 Chairmen and his Vice-Chairs, known collectively as the
Bureau. The Bureau has ten members, two from each of the UN regions. The
Chairman is Dr. Emil Salim from Indonesia. For a full list of the Bureau
members, click here.The
Bureau has a role in raising political support at the highest possible level in
all countries and amongst the heads of all international organisations within
the UN system, international financial institutions and the GEF; and it
actively supports the role of the Preparatory Committee in monitoring, with a
view to considering the reports of all relevant intergovernmental processes.
