| Niger National Preparations In preparation for the World Summit on Sustainable Development, the Government of Niger has established a National Preparatory Committee. The Committee will be composed of representatives from the following government agencies: National Committee for Environment and Sustainable Development, and Technical Ministries.The Committee is also expected to include representatives of major groups, including NGOs and Associations. Other participants include the private sector. In addition, Niger is undertaking its national review and assessment of the progress made in the implementation of Agenda 21, which is expected to be completed by February 2001. The Government of Niger is also planning to launch three "national initiatives" proposed by the Summit Secretariat to ensure greater participation of all partners. The estimated timeframes for completion of these Initiatives is as follows:
