Turkmenistan National
Preparations
In preparation for the World Summit on Sustainable Development, the Government
of Turkmenistan plans to organize the national preparatory process in
accordance with the following scheme:
- Group of experts will prepare the draft Review (by June 2001) of major
outcomes implemented in Turkmenistan that could be seen as an implementation of
Rio+10 decisions as well as future perspectives of Turkmenistan development
within the concept of sustainable development
- Draft Review will be presented to the National Conference in Ashgabat
(September 2001) for comments and endorsement
- Review will have to be endorsed by the President and Parliament (October
2001)
- Review will be published (November-December 2001)
- Review will be distributed to the Johannesburg and all parties concerned
(early 2002)
In order to do this the government will be using UN guidelines and national
strategies and plans to ensure proper process takes place.
