Fourth Summit Preparatory Committee (PREPCOM 4)

PrepCom 4, a ministerial level meeting, was held in Indonesia from 27 May - 7 June 2002.

This meeting drew upon the agreed text from the previous PrepCom to prepare a concise and focused document that aimed to:

emphasize the need for a global partnership to achieve the objectives of sustainable development,
reconfirm the need for an integrated and strategically focused approach to the implementation of Agenda 21, and
address the main challenges and opportunities faced by the international community in this regard.

Prepcom 4 included a 2 - day multi-stakeholder dialogue segment. The outcome of PrepCom 4 will be submitted for further consideration and adoption at the 2002 Summit meeting.
