Q. What do I need to do to organise accreditation and registration for the
Summit?
Accreditation and registration for the Summit is being organised by the United
Nations.

Q. How do I organise my travel and accommodation?
The South African government has created a company specifically to manage the
logistical aspects of their role as the host government. This company, called
the Johannesburg
World Summit Company (JOWSCO) is coordinating travel for delegates within
Johannesburg and accommodation arrangements.

Q. What security arrangements are being made for the Summit?
The UN security service is working closely with the host government's police
authorities to ensure that every appropriate security measure is in place for
the Summit.

Q. Where can I showcase my sustainable development project to delegates?
A Best Practice exhibition - also known as the Ubuntu exhibition - will be held
at the Wanderers stadium, next to the Ubuntu village. Visit the

Q. How can my business get involved with providing sponsorship and/or
support services for the Summit?
The UN does not accept corporate sponsorship. However there are a number of
potential opportunities for businesses to help provide financial support or
donations of goods or services to the logistical organisers of the Summit and

Q. Do you need translators / interpreters for the Summit?
The UN has sufficient translators and interpreters and is not looking for
additional staff.

Q. Do you have any other staff requirements? Can I work at the Summit on a
volunteer basis?
The Summit Secretariat is not looking for additional staff. However the local
organisers, JOWSCO, are currently seeking volunteers within South Africa who
can help in Johannesburg when the Summit takes place. Visit the

Q: How will the environmental
impact of such a large gathering of people in Johannesburg be
minimised?
The "Greening the WSSD" Initiative is being organised to ensure that
the host city for the Summit is left cleaner and greener. The Inititaive will
ensure that the Summit is being organised along environmental 'best
practice" lines and that minimal waste is generated by the delegates
